The Ultrafragola mirror/lamp was designed by Ettore Sottsass in 1970 as part of the Mobili Grigi and first exhibited in 1970 at the Eurodomus, Milan. Both in its name and in its sinuous shape, this evocative and erotic 'vanitas' in an homage to women's sensuality. The use of materials was unashamedly new at the time: wavy vaccum-formed acrylic sheet and coloured LED or neon light.
