Illuminated wall sculpture, designed by Angelo Brotto for ESPERIA, Italy 1970s. Original leather covered steel frame with frosted glass and mounted glass pieces. Illuminated from the back with three light bulbs. Signed 'BROTTO' on the front. FANTASTIC!

Angelo Brotto (1914-2002). Italian designer and artist from Venice. He was a professor at the Istituto Statale d'Arte di Venezia. During the 1960s and 70s Brotto successfully designed numerous pieces using hand blown Murano glass mixed with metal structures for the lamp makers ESPERIA. His lamps, in particular, were quickly acclaimed for capturing the sensitivity of the time, creating playful and artistic modern shapes, and for breaking with the traditional ways of glassmaking in Murano.
